Choosing My Light
This poem came through me during a writing exercise in my current Heroine’s Journey Class I am taking with Amy Henderson. The exercise was to connect with our Inner Girl/Teenager/Child. This feels as if she were waiting to speak and it was channeled, unedited in the few minutes we were given to write before sharing. I’m pretty sure I connected Fully!

CHOOSING MY LIGHT
The Word is NO!
Can you Hear Me?
Is It Too Loud?
Well, Let Me Say it Clearly
NO More Captivity
NO More Your Way
I Have a Journey
And, It Starts Today!
Call Me REBEL
Call Me FOOL
Call me ANGRY
No More Your Rules
Your Rules Don’t Fit
This Heart of Mine
I Have a Path
And, It is Going to Be Fine
Let me Be, Let Me Be Free
Stop Holding Me
Down, Down, Down
Til I’m Empty.
It Isn’t Your Life
Stop Trying to Live Mine
Don’t Tell Me Who to Be
Or, Who I Can See
I Choose My Light
All By Myself
I See My Path
YOU .. Get the Hell Out!
What Makes You Think
You Know My Way
What Makes You Think
I Have NO SAY.
If I’d Had the Words Then
They Would’ve been FUCK YOU,
But Instead I just Turned
and, Waved Goodbye, You Fool.
I Am Not Yours to Possess and Control
Only to Encourage and Guide, Not Rule.
As Bon Jovi says ‘It’s My Life to Live While I’m Alive’
So Get Out of My Way, I will Survive!
I Will Not Be Domesticated
I Will Be ME.
Day and Night!
I’m Choosing My Light.
